Im so happy that you are here in my tiny corner of the internet! It's true, photography is the love of my life but just like you....there is so much more to me than my career.
Like a lot of people, I don't like photos of myself. So posting this picture of me is way out of my comfort zone. If someone takes a picture of me, I get all awkward and look ridiculous. I think its the only selfie I have on my phone. Understanding how that feels is really helpful when photographing clients. I got you! I promise.
Outside of work I'm pretty basic. I have four kids and I am married to my best friend, Derek. I travel a lot to watch my boys play baseball. It's my favorite summer activity. They are really hoping to play baseball in college so watching them on their journey is really fun for me. Also, the coach is really cute too. He's my husband.
I have three dogs. One is an English Lab named Hank, and two are rescue dogs from Texas.....a Great Pyrenees named Buddy and a Maltese named FiFi.
I am crazy about raising chickens, gardening, reading and temperatures above 80 degrees.
I love TikTok but I do not like social media in general. I take a lot of social media breaks. If my business didn't have to have it, I wouldn't have social media at all.
I love to travel. It doesn't have to be a fancy destination, just anywhere I can spend time with the people I love is good enough for me. I do love Puerto Rico and Miami though. I'm a huge fan of latin food. Vaca Frita and Maduros are my favorite.
Prior to going back to college to study Photography and Media, I was a Registered Nurse. I worked as an ER Nurse at Detroit Receiving Hospital and as a Sexual Assault Forensic Nurse for Wayne County SAFE, where I was the Assistant Program Director. Advocating for women and girls, men and boys was LITERALLY my job. I would never have left that career but we had to move from the city for my husbands job, so here we are :)
